Reflecting "I started to throw things out as I filled in the spreadsheet. I found things that had been there years but when I gave them a personal value they had none." "Some things like house keys are uncontroversial. They are always about my person. However, things like handkerchiefs are more complex. I was a nicely brought up boy so always carried a handkerchief. Moreover, since wearing glasses I have discovered a hanky to be very useful when it rains but to avoid unpleasantness I always carry two hankies. But naturally these are never the same two hankies. I have a large store and I replace one hanky each day. The age of the hankies vary from last birthday/Christmas to many years old." "Then there are my conkers. I like conkers in my pocket. They are little fidget beads for when I walk and after a month or two become marvellously smooth and appealing to fidget with. However, I only carry those with me in coat pockets so they are always there but I am not always wearing that coat (or any coat in summer). How would you classify that on your spreadsheet? And again, I tend to change conkers each year as they remind me of autumn and the walk in which I collected them. This year, I missed long autumn walks in conker season and hence still have ones from two years ago!" |
